Doreen Kula, Technology Commercialization ManagerDoreen works closely with Rami Katz and Terry Gronwall to assess the market potential for new business technology ventures. Doreen brings a wide variety of experience to this position including training in Six Sigma, grant and technical writing, operations and purchasing management.
Doreen holds an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration, with concentrations in Manufacturing and Service Operations and Entrepreneurship, and a BA in Organizational Communication from SUNY Geneseo.
Prior to returning to Rochester, Doreen was Director of Operations for a $20+ million manufacturing company. She was responsible for three manufacturing plants and approximately 150 employees. Her responsibilities included managing the overall operations and purchasing functions, where she used Lean Manufacturing principles to increase efficiencies and reduce waste.
During her graduate studies, Doreen completed several internships including an executive level internship at a telecommunications company through the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation Entrepreneur Internship program. She was also instrumental in providing the business plan and financial models to secure funding for a local not-for-profit therapeutic equestrian program.
