Suzanne O''Connor, Finance and Administration Director

Sue O'Connor brings a diversity of financial experience that makes her especially well-suited for HTR, including being an entrepreneur herself. Sue is responsible for all aspects of accounting, contract administration, and finance at HTR. Additionally, she is working to develop the administrative & financial policies and processes that ensure HTR operates efficiently and effectively. In the longer term, Sue will assess client company needs across the full range of finance, administration, and human resources. As needs are identified, she will develop and deliver value-added services to HTR clients that improve their business success.

Sue's career began in public accounting, having spent four years with an international accounting firm in Rochester, NY & Charleston, WV. In that role, Sue worked with diverse businesses including governmental, not-for-profit, manufacturing, winery, mining, and banking. Sue also served as the accounting manager for a division of a Fortune 500 specialty chemicals company, where she was responsible for financial and tax reporting to corporate and division management, as well as the treasury and regulatory functions of natural gas processing and pipeline division.

More recently, Sue acted as VP/Controller for a $350 million indirect auto lending division of a local bank, and subsequently as the VP/Treasurer for an indirect automobile finance company. As one of the four "founders" of this company, Sue prepared the financial model of the business plan, leading to $8 million in initial funding from the parent company. In this role, Sue directed the financial & accounting functions from the startup stage to $250 million in serviced assets. Sue's responsibilities included human resource issues, office facilities, and selection, design & implementation of an IT solution for the business. Subsequently, Sue assisted in the orderly wind-down of the business upon the parent's decision to close down business.

Sue earned a BS in Accounting & Law from Clarkson University with Highest Honors. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Managerial Accountants.

She enjoys a regular game of golf, spending time with her family, as well as traveling throughout the U.S. and especially abroad.
